Minimalist, modern, and elegant – these maybe some of the reasons why you would want to stay at EDL Farmhouse in Tarlac. I am convinced, too.  But EDL is more than just the typical, cozy accommodation – it also provides guests that revitalizing farm experience.

If you live a busy life in the city like I do, even just a night in a place like EDL Farmhouse is a sure treat. I like its intimate ambiance and of course, its homey vibe. It felt like staying in a family rest house – from the beautiful garden to the relaxing swimming pool.

EDL Farmhouse can be reached from Manila by land for two hours while travel time from Clark International Airport is around 30-40 minutes.

Accommodations

As I’ve mentioned, EDL has that homey vibe – inside out. The place is beautifully minimalist in white, modern interiors including the rooms.

Second floor rooms.

Our aircon room situated on the second floor was accessible by stairs. It had all the basic things we needed – clean beds, flat screen TV, and closet. There were also many charging outlets in different parts of the room. Wi-FI is a bit weak though which may be good if you want to disconnect and unwind.

Our minimalist and comfy room.

The small bathroom had a partitioned toilet and shower areas. Towels and toiletries were provided.

If you’re in a large group, you can probably have the entire place to yourselves. After a day full of activity, it was really a good night rest for us at EDL.

Swimming Pool and Garden

The swimming pool and garden areas are my favorite spots especially during the night.

Some of my blogger friends were even able to capture the super blue blood moon at the place. It was also an unforgettable experience for me to see such a once-in-a-lifetime event that was made even more memorable by EDL. I stood in a quiet, tranquil, and lovely farmhouse with the surrounding nature while looking up in a moon so exquisite it felt like a dream only that it was not.

The moon is not the only one shining brightly that night. The stars, too!

The Farm Experience

I’m always grateful to visit farms every now and then because it reminds me that life can be happily simple. And that farm people are some of the warmest and nicest individuals I know. Just like in EDL Farmhouse. As we got the chance to roam around the fields, we even experienced ourselves daily farm activities like feeding the pigs and milking the cows.

We also learned a lot like the process of making salted eggs.

The vegetable farm was also very educational with the appropriate labels indicating not only the names but some insightful trivia as well. Did you know that chili pepper contains up to seven times more Vitamin C than orange? 🙂

Overall

With affordable rooms, EDL Farmhouse is one of the best accommodations you can find in Tarlac. I really like how they made the place modern and minimalist in combination of that rural, farm vibe. If you have extra time, do not only chill by the pool, go around and see the farm!
