Tugawe Cove is a secluded paradise in Caramoan where you can unwind while marveling at nature’s wonders.
Caramoan is one of the municipalities of Camarines Sur that is geographically isolated from the rest of the province. Tugawe Cove is actually one of the beautiful resorts you can choose to stay with when visiting Caramoan. Some travelers might just find it a little expensive to stay at the resort.
Tugawe Cove has a small pool located near the resort’s restaurant. The water is very clean. You can get a really lovely view while relaxing in one of the pool lounge chairs where the staff can serve drinks.
Beach and Free Activities
Despite not having a long shoreline, the beach has clear and blue waters with white sand. Aside from swimming at the beach, the following are some free activities you can enjoy at the resort:
- Hiking to the lighthouse
- Bioluminescent plankton watching (during new moon)
We were actually able to do kayaking, snorkeling and fishing. Just be sure to check your snorkeling gears because some are not working properly (better if you bring your own). The same gears are the ones they provide during island hopping. For fishing, they’ve only got one fishing rod during the time we visited. We went fishing by the lake. There were many fish but we were not able to catch one.
Roomsand Other Amenities
Rooms are located into three different locations – by the lake, on the hillside and on the hilltop. The rooms found by the lake are the nearest ones to the beach. Getting at the hilltop requires a little hike or you can opt to ride a cable car. The good thing is that the path going up is made of concrete.
The advantage of availing rooms at the hilltop is its proximity to the resort’s restaurant and pool. The air-conditioned rooms are clean, spacious and really nice with the following inclusions:
- 32-inch LCD TV
- Private bathroom
- Hot and cold shower
- Complimentary bottled water
- Complimentary coffee
Towels and toiletries are provided. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all rooms. Butler service can also spoil the guests. Just beside the restaurant is a game room where you can play billiards and darts. They also have books.
Food and Restaurant
The first meal we had when we arrived is a set lunch. We were allowed to select anything we like from their menu. Some choices which we actually had are grilled squid and liempo.
We had breakfast and dinner buffet for the rest of our meals except for packed lunch during our island hopping. Breakfast is typically comprised of pancakes, bread, eggs, hotdogs and a rice meal. Dinner would always consist of a combination of meat, vegetables and fish. The food is not exceptional but in very generous amount. They also have unlimited coffee.
The restaurant is the only spot in the resort where you can get wi-fi and mobile phone signal.
