The Philippines Department of Tourism (PDOT) recently conducted an Instagram photo contest with the theme “Soul of the Philippines”.  And I am more than happy to be selected as a two-time finalist! Yes, two of my submitted photos were chosen as part of the Top 25 Finalists.

The Soul of the Philippines photo contest was opened to all TBEX (Travel Blog Exchange) Asia 2016 participants. Around 400 travel bloggers/delegates from different parts of the world were able to visit places in the Philippines from the bustling city of Manila to the beautiful islands of Palawan among others.

Photos taken during the duration of the conference can be submitted as entries by posting in Instagram with the hashtags #soulofthephilippines and #philippinesphotocontest. From all of the entries, 25 photos were selected as part of the Final round. Out of the 25 Finalists, two will be selected to win the Grand Prize and Runner Up Prize.

From hundreds of photos submitted, I already feel like a winner to have my two photos selected as part of the 25 finalists. Hope you can check out my photos below posted in PDOT’s Instagram account, @tourismphilippines:

  1. I actually wanted to join TBEX the last time, I was run out of the budget that’s why I wasn’t able to join. Anyway, I like your pictures and I admire how you have captured it. You really deserved to be a finalist. I’m not that proficient in capturing photo as I’m still learning more about it. Once again, congratulations and more recognition to come shortly.

  2. ROBERT LEE says:

Hey congratulations. 2 of the top 25 is yours, that must be quite an achievement and gratifying. Hope you are picked on top… top two even.

The photos you took were really beautiful. I especially liked the one on Escudero, the door somehow comes to life in the photo.

Once again, congratulations and best wishes.

  3. KT Nielsen says:

Oh wow! Big congratulations for being a finalist to the Soul of the Philippines photo contest. I personally love the boodle fight food photo. So colorful, so Filipino! I hope you win the competition. I’ve visited the Instagram account of the DOT and I liked both photos. Here’s to hoping you best out the other entries. 🙂

  4. Maerose JS says:

Wow! What a feat. Had I been one of the judges, I’d definitely pick your photos too. Would love to visit Villa Escudero but I often disregard the idea due to proximity issues. But I didn’t know that they also have a museum. THAT I wouldn’t want to miss.. So I’m putting the hacienda in my itinerary for when I visit the Philippines again. Perhaps next year. 😉 I also love the boodle fight feast! I super miss Pinoy food– 😛 Hope you’d make it and win the competition! Best of luck!

    • Thank you sooo much, Maerose!!! The pink museum is beautiful outside and at the same time really fantastic inside! You would not expect such extensive collection can be found inside 🙂 I hope you’d be able to visit it soon!
