We were lucky because just a walking distance from our hotel (Hotel Palwa) is where Dumaguete’s very own chicken inasal (chicken barbeque) is being served, at City Burger.
Price is very much affordable, ranging from PHP 80 – PHP 200. Menu is a bit limited. Aside from chicken inasal, we tried their fried chicken skin, chop suey, calamares, and pansit which are some Filipino’s favorites.
I love their very crispy fried chicken skin especially when dipped in spicy vinegar. Both chop suey and calamares are tasty. Their pansit comes in generous serving but they could have added more veggies, sea food and/or meat stuffs to it to make it more appetizing.
They can really be proud of their chicken inasal smeared with a slightly sweet sauce. It gets yummier doing my ritual for chicken inasal – soaking it in soy sauce with calamansi and chili pepper.
Though named City Burger, they do not have a variety of burgers to offer and you only have a choice of the usual hamburger and cheeseburger. For desserts, they have local brands of ice cream being sold anywhere.
